I did this sketchbook spread following the directions in the Nature Walkabout lesson in Carla Sonheim's book Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artistsduring a camping trip this past summer.

What I like best about this image: the realism of the flowers.

What I learned: to map out the size and location of each element on the page.

What I would do differently: make the fern more realistic & less stylized.
